Interested in learning more about us?
Marlindale Farm began in Emmitsburg, MD with Suffolks, Hampshires and their crosses in 1990. We changed to Montadales to try a cross0ver breed, but eventually went to Border Leicesters. When we moved to New Oxford, Nancy Starkey introduced us to the Bluefaced Leicester breed. We've had them since 2005- either as purebreds or crossing with the Border Leicesters.
We are no longer breeding sheep but if you want purebred BFL, contact me and I can refer you to current BFL breeders. We have a small flock of 15 ewes and wethers who will still be producing fabulous fleeces!
My name is Margie and this is my first Leicester sheep - Border Leicester, Rhyme. I am wearing a sweater that was made from her fleece.
Lynn is the other half of our farm. He has been supportive and encouraging, offering the "how" to making things happen around Marlindale!
Committed to producing fabulous fleeces that shimmer!
We have won 1st place in the BFL division at Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival since 2015. In 2017, we won not only the BFL class, but also Best of Breeds and even made Reserve Grand Champion fleece over 800 or more other fleeces!
